this is an awsome page and you can listen to music, get lyrics, and even get tour dates.
Johnny the Homicidal Maniac is a comic book about a....well, I guess its about the perversions of society in general. Its something that is hard to explain and should really just be read by oneself.
The whole series details events in Johnny's, 'Nny' for short, is, well, he is a homicidal maniac. The reader gets to follow Johnny througout the day, as he does his business. Several side characters, mainly Squee, a young child, also play recurring roles in the comic.
The format of the comic book is interesting, with short segments that piece together to form a full story. Some of the segments are linear, and these are the ones that comprise the major portion of the JTHM storyline. Other segments deal with Johnny, but are more like side incidences, with no connection to the main plot. These are often the ones with Squee in them, who eventually gets his own series. And then there are other portions of the comic that are totally separate events. These side stories often deal with characters such as Wobbly Headed Bob and Happy Noodle Boy. It is in these segments that sometimes Jhonen (the author) does something about himself, like visiting a quickie mart in search of a slurpy.
One of the characters introduced in the JTHM series of comics is Squee. Squee (whose real name is Todd, I think) is the young boy who lives next store to Johnny. Squee is one of the few people who Johnny actually kind of likes. He tries to teach him about the sick world that Johnny is both a product and cause of. It is from this perspective that Jhonen Vasquez writes from in his second comic, a four-issue series called Squee. This series, along with Jhonen's usual tangents, details the life of Squee in this rough and tumble world. Unfortunately, Squee, except for the companionship of his stuffed bear Shmee, has little guidance (even from his parents) for life in world. To put it simply, Squee is about this poor kid in a cruel, cruel world.
It looks pretty boring doesn't it. I was in a black and red mood when I did this (which was a perfect time to build an annoying torturous JTHM page). There is more to this site than meets the eye. Look for the links, they're there. Sorry, I just couldn't bring myself to make the links any color other than black, and once you get to those pages some of my text is impossible to read, but hell, why be ordinary?
